Schema Therapy
Schema Therapy is a comprehensive approach to psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing deeply ingrained patterns, or schemas, that develop early in life and impact how individuals perceive themselves and others. These schemas often lead to maladaptive coping strategies and dysfunctional interpersonal patterns.

In Schema Therapy, clients work collaboratively with their therapist to identify their core schemas, often rooted in unmet emotional needs from childhood. Through various techniques such as cognitive restructuring, experiential exercises, and role-playing, clients learn to challenge and modify these schemas.
One key aspect of Schema Therapy is the therapeutic relationship, which provides a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore and process difficult emotions and experiences. The therapist serves as a compassionate guide, helping clients understand how their past experiences continue to influence their present behaviour and relationships.

Schema Therapy can be particularly effective for individuals with chronic or treatment-resistant mental health issues, such as personality disorders, chronic depression, or complex trauma. By addressing underlying core schemas, clients can experience profound healing and transformation, leading to greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and healthier relationships.
